Design and Implementation of an IoT-Based Diabetes Remote Monitoring System

Real time remote diabetes monitoring aimed at detecting blood glucose level with Internet of Things (IoT) Technology. It is a self-diabetes management system intended to perceive the concentration of specific molecules namely hyperglycemia and other cause parameters for diabetes. We discussed and analyzed data collected by specific sensors, based on the data sensed, a microcontroller has been used for data filtering and message sent to the cloud through IoT communication model. An IoT-based application have been developed in order to manage and connect patients with their physicians (doctors). Based on measurements collected by sensors , doctors provide assistance at real time to the patients from user-friendly interfaces dashboard. The previous researchers, introduced the usage of Telephone in Mobile-Health (mHealth), this IoT system integrated of mobile phones and computers with sensor based. The system was designed and tested in such a way that Doctors can access patients’ data in a mobile and web-based application. Diabetes remote monitoring system should be a tool for the careful management of Diabetes disease which may build up from the elevated blood sugar. The assistances were provided by Doctors, and the patients access them via patient’s panel of the application, and to their e-mails Id, or by call. The existing literature showed that the over-increasing blood glucose leads to many complicated risks such as Stroke, Heart diseases like cardiovascular. The research contributes to the health sector by filling the gap between clinicians and patients, which was caused by the lack of real-time healthcare, and it may lead to the loss of lives. This Diabetes Remote Monitoring System (DRMS) intelligently operates by identifying and understanding in advance connected devices in heath industries for diabetics. The thesis focused on benefits of diabetics through IoT devices. By the results, we encountered real-time data transfer from patient to the clinicians. Diabetics in critical status at fasting:80-139mg/dl; >85 bpm, 120-180 mmHg (Systolic), 80-120 mmHg (Diastolic) 36oC-37.9oC or? 37.9oC, Blood glucose, Heartrate, Blood Pressure and temperature measurements respectively.
The elevation glucose measurements are depending on person to person, system provides Correction Dose Insulin by applying its formular.
