Prof Richard Musabe

Prof. Richard Musabe obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Rwanda in 2006. In 2009, he obtained a master’s degree in Network Security from Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, Scotland, UK, he received a Ph.D degree from the same university in 2013. His Post-doc studies was also in Mobile Communication and was completed in 2018. His currently working as a senior lecturer and the dean of the school of ICT at the University of Rwanda, college of science and Technology. He has contributed to science through different interdisciplinary research activities either as PI or Co-PI of different grants like;
✓Project title “Enhancing Quality and Internationalization of Study Programmes Through Mobile Transformative Pedagogy (EQIP). The Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education”
✓Project title “A Big Data platform for strengthening malaria surveillance program in Rwanda”. National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-Through Tackling Infections to benefit Africa (TIBA).
✓Project Title: “Evaluate the impact of e-health in the management of severe malaria cases in Rwanda”. National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-Through Tackling Infections to benefit Africa (TIBA)
✓Project title “Evaluation of mixed malaria infections and developing a responsive surveillance of malaria infections in Rwanda”. National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)- Through Tackling Infections to benefit Africa (TIBA).
✓Project Title “Evaluation and Enhancement of resource allocation scheduling schemes for heterogeneous traffic in LTE-Advanced”. University of Rwanda

He has contributed to the education sector both as a university Senior lecturer and supervisor of both masters and PhD students. His research interests include; Cellular communication, VoIP, Cross-layer scheduling schemes, Performance evaluation of computer systems and networks, Computer network simulation, Network Security, IoT, e-Health, and Big data.
