Minister of Education visits ACEIoT as part of nationwide outreach to HLIs

On May 4, 2026, the Hon. Minister of Education, Joseph Nsengimana, accompanied by a delegation, paid a courtesy visit to the African Centre of Excellence in Internet of Things (ACEIoT). The visit was part of a Higher Education Council’s nationwide outreach to Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs).

During this visit, the Minister toured various facilities at the Centre and was briefed on key activities being carried out.

Following the tour, the Minister met with UR senior management and staff representatives before meeting the entire UR CST community.

In this meeting, the Director General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) Dr. Edward Kadozi engaged participants directly on issues related to teaching quality, governance, and the effective implementation of the newly developed Higher Education Sector Strategic Plan (HESSP) 2025–2030

In this interactive session, Honorable Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting: “Through this engagement, we want to listen, understand the realities within our institutions, and work together to address the challenges affecting teaching, learning, research, and overall institutional performance.”

He further added: “We are building a higher education system that goes beyond today’s needs, one that positions Rwanda as a regional hub for quality education, research, and innovation. This includes attracting talent, strengthening international partnerships, and producing skilled graduates who contribute directly to national and regional development.”

The Minister was accompanied by UR Senior management and officials from the Higher Education Council (HEC).
