Fog-centric Intelligent Video Applications powered by Deep Learning

The African center of excellence in internet of things (ACEIoT) at college of science and technology university of Rwanda organized a public talk on” Fog-centric Intelligent Video Applications powered by Deep Learning” presented by Dr Jimmy NSENGA from Belgium, a research associate in ACEIoT and an independent Senior Software & Research Consultant, providing engineering services on the development of DSP-intensive services and Mobile/Web applications from two widely known ICT research centers (CETIC & IMEC). The public lecture took place from 2:00 -4:00 PM at college of science and technology (KIST 2 building) bringing together PhD scholars from different centers of excellences, academic staffs, researchers, administrative staffs and business people from various colleges of the university and other places. The public lecture aimed at highlighting trends in the applications of video recording devices and their use in the context of IoT where myriad of devices capturing vast amounts of data and the challenges they suffer such as big data deluge, latency for decision feedback, data privacy, network congestion, reliability and so on.
