New admitted students at ACEIoT introduced to the Center

On 3rd October 2019, new students from Rwanda and the region have been introduced to African Center of Excellence in Internet of Things. They include Masters and PhD students who are admitted to the Center for the academic year2019-2020.

The main objective of the event was to interact with new students, provide full information about the Center ,Campus and the country for regional students and access information on services offered in the campus.

Dr. Damien Hanyurwimfura the Head of PhD, who represented the Director of the Center, explained different programs that are offered at the Center and the main requirements that students have to fulfill towards the completion of their studies. Ongoing students have shared experiences with new ones and assured the support for the smooth integration.

In his key note, the Principal of the College of Science and Technology, the host of the Center, Dr. Ignace Gatare welcomed the new students and highlighted the essence of the African Centers of Excellence Project. He said the project was designed for the region in a bid to find solutions to regional challenges.

“The project was timely. We are now collaborating with the region and the rest of the world to advance postgraduate studies. We are now being able to tackle African problems”, he said. He urged students to make effort in conducting research instead of relying only on Lecturers’ offerings.

During this event, different departments’ representatives have presented the services they offer and requested students to feel free to request for these services as they are on their disposal during their stay at the Center.

This year, the Center admitted 7 PhD students and 67 Masters Students.
