During the stakeholder workshop on Shaping the EAC AI Learning Pathways Framework, Pre-Conference Workshop of the 17th IUCEA Annual Conference in Nairobi, the University of Rwanda (UR), represented by Prof. Damien Hanyurwimfura, contributed to discussions on designing a regional framework for AI education, skills development, and career pathways across the East African Community (EAC).
This session was organized by IUCEA, in collaboration with UNESCO, JICA, and GIZ and included stakeholders from key AI ecosystem players in the region.

The workshop brought together universities, governments, industry, development partners, and regional organizations to define how learners can progress from short courses and bootcamps to university degrees and professional AI careers through harmonized learning pathways.
The workshop discussed the Careers and skills in demand, Learning content and pathways and Recognition and quality assurance
The workshop was in line with the Transformative Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation Lab(TAIRI) that trains students and professions in building AI solutions to address local challenges in Health, Agriculture, Climate change and sustainable cities
