PhD and Masters students trained in Turnitin

The African Center of Excellence in Internet of Things (ACEIoT) in collaboration with the Centre of Open Distance and ELearning, operating at the College of Education  conducted a two - day training on plagiarism Control  using Turnitin. The training targeted Masters and PhD students from ACEIoT.

Turnitin is a plagiarism tool Control which is used to improve quality in teaching, learning, assessment and research for students, lecturers and researchers for academic works (Thesis, Papers, assignments...)

During this training, students were equipped with skills to be aware of the academic integrity in their works and use Turnitin to check similarities of what to write and what has already been written in their research areas.

Prof. Santhi Koumaran, Director of the African Center of Excellence in Internet of Things finds this training a good way of helping students to be serious in research, and be able to produce high quality research.  She added that students improved their researches in terms of quality by avoiding any form of plagiarism.
