Gaspard GASHEMA is a PhD holder in IT convergence Engineering, Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Gumi, Republic of Korea. He previously received bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Kigali Institute of Science and Technology, Kigali, Rwanda in 2010 before graduating with master’s degree in communication and information systems from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, in 2015. He is currently a full-time lecturer at University of Rwanda in Department of Business and Information Technology (College of Business and Economics). Dr. Gaspard is also a teaching assistant in African Center of Excellent in Internet of Things-University of Rwanda (ACEIoT-UR) where he has also been working with different number of both master and doctorate students as a research supervisor. Prior joining University of Rwanda, Dr. Gaspard was working at Institute d’Enséignement Supérieur (INES) de Ruhengeri as a full-time lecturer and head of Computer Science department, Faculty of Applied Fundamental Sciences.
He has published a significant number of papers in scientific citation/Scopus indexed journals as well as conferences papers. Dr. Gaspard is a reviewer of different journals including IEEE Access, ICT Express Journal of Communications, IEIE Transaction on Smart Processing and computing and among others. His research interested includes (but not limited) Internet of Things /wireless sensor networks based on real-time system in industrial application, wireless communication in 5G and beyond communication systems, Machine learning algorithms and Data Analytics, Spectrum Sharing based cognitive radio and ultra-reliable and low latency communication.
